CEO FACULTY TALK SERIES: A SESSION WITH JOHAN MAHMOOD MERICAN ON RAISING GRADUATES’ EMPLOYABILITY
USM, PENANG, 28 November 2016 - Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) through the USM International Mobility and Career Centre (IMCC) and the School of Social Sciences will organise the ‘CEO Talk Series’, a session featuring the Deputy Director-General of the Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister’s Department, Johan Mahmood Merican who will share his extensive experience heading various major organisations, including Talent Corporation Malaysia (TalentCorp) with the campus community on Wednesday, 30 November 2016, 2.00 pm at the Dewan Persidangan Universiti (DPU), here.
The CEO Faculty Talk serves as a platform for cooperation between the university and industry in providing exposure on the industry to the academic staff and students, and also in allowing for dialogues between the industry and the USM campus community to take place.
The focus would be more on the students, especially in having specific sessions with selected CEOs (Chief Executive Officers) of the industry to further develop the employability of the graduates based on the needs of the industry.
The launch of the Industry Engagement Zone or Ind-E-Zone would also be held at the programme, to promote the zone as a one-stop career information centre introduced by TalentCorp, and being a place where USM students could seek further information regarding opportunities for internships, training and careers with major industries in the country.
In addition, there will also be a talk on MyASEAN Internship and the appointment of USM-Talent Corp Graduate Employability Avengers.
