350 ORANG ASLI INVOLVED IN USM ORAL CANCER AWARENESS PROGRAMME
USM, PENANG, 24 November 2016 - 350 Semai Tribe Orang Asli comprising children, youth, and adults are expected to be involved in the Oral Cancer Awareness Programme, organised by the Advanced Medical and Dental Institute (AMDI), Universiti Sains Malaysia. This programme is funded by the Industry and Community Network Division (BJIM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).
It will be held at the Kampung Leryar Orang Asli Settlement at Pos Menson, Cameron Highlands, Pahang on Saturday, 26 November 2016 from 8.30 am to 1.00 pm.
Premalignant oral lesion screening, talks and demonstration on early oral cancer detection will be carried out by AMDI Dental Team.
There will also be an exhibition on oral diseases and their treatment, oral health screening, hand washing demonstration as well as blood sugar level and blood pressure check-up.
