GRADUATES NEED TO UPHOLD INTEGRITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY
USM, PENANG, 28 October 2016 - Graduates who have achieved success in their institutions should continue to excel and uphold integrity and accountability, the trust and responsibility put upon them.
The Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Pro-Chancellor, Tan Sri Datuk Mustafa Mansur said that, in shaping the future, developing the right strategy is essential to move ahead and to achieve success.
"Make plans and seek opportunities, continue to learn and to persevere. I am sure that one similarity that is shared among those who succeed is the determination in achieving countless opportunities in this world beyond boundaries."
"Keep on learning and put in the effort, at the same time avoiding negative influences that would taint the future."
He said this in front of 773 graduands in Engineering, Science and Arts in the seventh session of the USM 54th Convocation Ceremony here recently.
He also urged the graduands to travel beyond national boundaries to seek experiences, in addition to having the interest in reading to achieve greatness.
"Graduands should read vigorously to develop open-mindedness in facing future challenges, while dealing with experiences at the workplace in high spirits."
"Among the materials to read would be the classic literature 'The Art of War' by Sun Tzu which is widely available, more so in preparing for the world global economy which is constantly changing," he said further.
