USM STUDENTS TO STAY AWAY FROM AREAS PRONE TO THE HIGH-TIDE PHENOMENON - DEPUTY VC
PENANG, 15 October 2016 - Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) has advised its students to stay away from activities in areas that are prone to the high-tide phenomenon.
This follows the high-tide phenomenon expected to occur in various parts of Penang and Kedah from 15 to 19 October 2016.
USM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Development Affairs and Alumni) Professor Dato’ Dr. Adnan Hussein also urged all head of departments, deans and directors in the university to advise their students not to visit areas which are prone to the high-tide phenomenon during the respective dates.
"I also urged for the cooperation of all to continuously monitor the situation and to ensure their students' safety," he added.
