USM RECEIVES A 15-MEMBER DELEGATION FROM AJOU UNIVERSITY KOREA
USM, PENANG, 18 August 2016 – Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) recently received a 15-member delegation from Ajou University Korea, on a visit to Penang to gather first hand information on USM particularly concerning USM’s long-standing involvement in the area of lifelong learning.
On hand to welcome the Korean delegation comprised of professors, researchers, lecturers, teachers, education consultants and a director of a well-established kindergarten was USM International Mobility and Career Centre (IMCC) Director, Dr. Muhizam Mustafa and representatives from the School of Educational Studies, School of Distance Education and Centre for Development of Academic Excellence (CDAE).
During the one and half hour long discussion, both parties have identified several areas of possible collaboration namely in lifelong learning, education and human resource development.
Group leader, Professor Jeon Dokeun, through an interpreter, expressed his great thanks and gratitude to USM for receiving them, and hoped both parties can forge a good relationship by working together in joint collaborative endeavour in the near future.
“This is the first time we are visiting USM but prior to this, we have heard so much about USM being one of the leading public universities in Malaysia; in fact USM was highly recommended to us to visit if we come to Malaysia,” added Jeon, who specialises in lifelong learning and adult education.
