USM, PENANG, 31 May 2016 – The Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Professor Dato’ Dr. Omar Osman recently received a courtesy call from the new Japanese Consul-General in Penang, Kiyoshi Itoi.
“I am looking forward for more activities to be jointly-organised by USM and the Japanese Government and also the allocation of places for students in the industries whether in Malaysia or in Japan.”
“USM has also established relations with several Japanese institutions and agencies such as Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) and Toray Industries Malaysia, as well as Kyoto University of Foreign Studies (KUFS),” added the Vice-Chancellor.
The Vice-Chancellor congratulated Kiyoshi on his appointment and hoped that he would continue to enhance working relations between Japan and USM.

“I hoped that through such relations, more Japanese students would be able to pursue their studies at USM and vice-versa,” added Kiyoshi.
