USM, PENANG, 5 April 2016 – Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Muzium dan Galeri Tuanku Fauziah (MGTF) is currently hosting an exhibition named 2 Series Artwork from Thailand titled “Space and Time of Serenity” by Manee Meemak and “Colour of Faith and Serenity” by Pongsiri Kiddee from 4 April 2016 to 5 May 2016.

This exhibition was made possible through the cooperation of MGTF, USM School of the Art and Thaksin University Faculty of Fine Art, Chiengmai University and Silpakorn University.

Manee Meemak is an Associate Professor and lecturer at the Thaksin University while Pongsiri Kiddee is an instructor from Chiengmai University, and both are currently doing their PhD at Silpakorn University, Thailand.

The artworks that are being exhibited here are part of their ongoing research projects.

The opening of the exhibition will be officiated by the Royal Thai Consul-General in Penang Ekajit Kraivichien on Wednesday, 6 April 2016, 3.30 p.m. at the MGTF lobby. Among those who will attend the opening ceremony are the USM Vice-Chancellor Professor Dato’ Dr. Omar Osman and the MGTF Director Zolkurnian Hassan.

In conjunction with the exhibition, Manee Meemak and Pongsiri Kiddee will also be conducting a printmaking workshop using two very popular printmaking techniques namely litho technique and silk screen technique on Thursday, 7 April 2016, 10.00 a.m. at the same venue.
