‘UNIVERSITY IN A GARDEN’ AN ATTRACTION FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS ENROLLING IN USM
USM, PENANG, 16 March 2016 – ‘University in a Garden’ sums up the impression of USM in being the first choice for international students, such as Ph.D candidate, Muhammad Imran Sarwar, 32, from Lahore, Pakistan, who is currently pursuing his studies at the National Advanced IPv6 Centre (NAv6), USM after completing his Master’s degree at USM.
According to Imran, he enjoys studying in USM because of the ‘University in a Garden’ concept, which is a very beautiful place and provided plenty of nature in its surroundings.
He stated that, USM is the only APEX University in Malaysia and he believes in the idea of transformation for a sustainable tomorrow. He hoped that after completing his Ph.D, he could be a world-class researcher and be able to contribute to the world.
He pointed out that USM also focuses on community work, and he loves community work apart from doing his Ph.D. Therefore, he has had chances to engage with students from different countries, contributing not only as a USM student, but also as a Malaysian.
However, for his research area, which is in Computer Science, he rated the School of Computer Sciences in USM as one of the best academic schools in Malaysia.
He added further, USM is constantly striving towards having a world-class research environment and providing opportunities for students to excel in academics and also in research.
He urged the public to pursue their studies in USM if they are seeking for a world-class environment, world-class research and sustainable surroundings.
