USM, PENANG, 13 March 2016 – A Doctoral (Ph.D) candidate in Science Computer, Kamal Ibrahim, 43, chose to enrol for his studies at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) due to the university’s ranking as among the best in Malaysia and also in the world.

"What led me further to choose USM was the position of the university in a number of world ranking lists, which proves that I have made the right choice in coming here to pursue my studies," said Kamal.

He added that, based on his online searches, he discovered that USM is the only APEX university in the country and among the best public universities in Malaysia.

Other than regarding the tuition fees for USM as being reasonable, Kamal has also encouraged his family members and friends from his home country of Jordan to continue pursuing their studies here at the postgraduate Master’s and Doctoral levels.

"I have filled in the application forms for my spouse, younger brother and three other friends from Jordan the previous week. They were truly enthusiastic on coming to USM after listening to my experiences for the last three years," he explained further.

Aiming to complete his studies soon in early 2017, Kamal also emphasised that USM definitely was the right choice for him.

He also truly appreciated the role of the International Mobility and Career Centre (IMCC) (previously known as USM International Office) which has provided plenty of assistance in providing the facilities, accommodation and also being his main source of reference here.
