USM, PENANG, 14 March 2016 – Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) is well becoming a place that is close to the heart, especially for international students aiming to further their studies here.  

A Doctoral (Ph.D) candidate in Communication from Jakarta, Indonesia, Anna Agustina, 46, felt that it was fortunate for her to choose USM to pursue her studies further and to be amongst students of foreign nationalities whom she has the opportunity to meet such as those from Pakistan, China, Iran, and Iraq among many others.

“I am truly happy to be surrounded by and to be able to interact with all of them, and though they may differ in relation to their home countries, cultures and religious beliefs, they have helped me a lot especially in terms of improving my grasp of the English Language,” said Anna.

“Besides, USM has also done a praiseworthy job in providing the best and most updated facilities for the students, in addition to offering a dynamic and safe campus environment, as well as being an attraction for me to advance my studies in the field of Science and Environmental Journalism,” she said.

A mother to three children, she was also grateful to her lecturers especially those in the School of Communication with their support and guidance in the process of doing her research.

Anna Agustina is truly confident that with the facilities and professional assistance available at USM, the students would surely excel in all areas and would benefit society and the world over.
