CZECH REPUBLIC UNIVERSITIES SCOUT FOR POSSIBLE COOPERATION WITH USM
USM, PENANG, 8 March 2016 – Representatives from two Czech Republic universities came for an official visit to Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) to develop long-term plans for cooperation, especially in the field of Engineering.
Vice-Rector (Education) University of Pardubice Dr. Jana Kubanova and Vice-Rector Technical University of Liberec Prof. Madya Dr. Sona Jandova, visiting Malaysia for the first time, had a meeting with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) Professor Dato’ Dr. Muhamad Jantan.
According to Muhamad, this meeting had the aim of looking at potentials for collaboration as well as agreements between both parties and also on student exchange, more specifically in the field of Engineering.
Meanwhile, for Dr. Jana Kubanova dan Dr. Sona Jandova, their main intention in coming to USM was to seek for whatever form of suitable collaboration that could be established to benefit both partners in the long run.
They added that, they were very much interested on the student exchange programme in areas of research that could bring long-term benefits to both parties.
Also present was the Director of International Collaboration Centre Prof. Dr. Lee Keat Teong, Deans from the respective USM engineering schools, lecturers and USM key officials.
