STOP SPREADING RUMOURS ON POISONOUS PLANT CLAIM – LODGE OFFICIAL COMPLAINT FOR USM TO CARRY OUT IMMEDIATE INVESTIGATION

We have received numerous inquiries regarding the news that went viral on social media about a poisonous plant that allegedly killed a Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) student conducting research on the plant.

USM appealed to whoever is responsible of spreading the news to lodge an official complaint with valid evidence to enable USM to carry out an official investigation.

Spreading such rumours on social media networks without evidence would only create more problems, and USM was prepared to conduct a thorough investigation into the claim with the help of its expertise from the School of Biological Sciences and other related fields.

USM regretted this kind of news and hoped whoever behind this act to come forward soon to assist us. USM would also like to plead to all to stop spreading the false news on the matter immediately.
