INTERNATIONAL WEEK TO SERVE CULTURES OF DIFFERENT NATIONS
PENANG, 26 November 2015 - Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) will be having its 10th International Week from 1 - 3 December 2015 and also the International Gala Night on 8 December 2015 at USM, to be jointly organised by the International Office (IO), Postgraduate Students Association, Desasiswa PETAS, Student Buddies and the Institute of Postgraduate Studies (IPS) USM.
The President of the Postgraduate Students Association (PSA), Saiful Yusoff explained that, the International Week event is held to provide the opportunity for the students of USM to be better acquainted with the various cultures from other countries.
"The International Week is a continuation of the International Day which was held earlier on, and various programmes have been lined up to provide a better understanding on the types of food, traditional games, attires and cultures of the countries involved," said the Doctoral in Business Administration student.
He added, the activities planned for the International Week from 1 - 3 December are a food festival, a film festival, traditional games, drawing competition and cultural exhibition.
The highlight of the programme this time around would be the International Gala Night, with the students from different countries presenting cultural performances which portray their own unique identities.
Tickets for International Gala Night can be obtained from the foyer of Dewan Tuanku Syed Putra (DTSP) from 1 - 3 December 2015, priced at RM5 per person.
The countries involved are those from the Middle East, South-East Asia and a few other home countries of the international students who are pursuing their studies at USM.
