PENANG, November 2015 – The whole Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) community has been called upon to increase productivity and strive for future successes in the future.

Addressing the guests at the Chancellor’s Royal Banquet in conjunction with the just concluded 52^nd USM Convocation ceremony, the DYMM Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Ibni Al-Marhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail has urged for the USM community to instil a sense of excellence in their work pursuits.

“I am urging all the USM community to embrace excellence as a habit in themselves by giving the fullest commitment and support to the leadership in advancing the strategies planned, together with the humanity values and universal harmony towards developing a sustainable education system,” said DYMM the Chancellor to approximately 200 guests from USM and representatives from other universities who attended the ceremony.

Added the DYMM Chancellor, USM is a university of shared ownership which requires shared responsibilities to ensure its well-being.

The Raja Perempuan of Perlis, DYMM Tuanku Tengku Fauziah binti Al-Marhum Tengku Abdul Rashid was also present at the ceremony.

Others who attended the ceremony were the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education of Indonesia, Professor Dr. Mohamad Nasir and wife; USM Pro-Chancellor Tan Sri Datuk Mustafa Mansur; Chairman of the USM Board of Governors Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Zulkefli A. Hassan; Chairperson of K.L.E. Society Dr. Prabhakar Basaprabhu Kore and USM Vice-Chancellor Professor Dato’ Dr. Omar Osman.
