WORLD BANK GROUP SHARES RESEARCH FINDINGS WITH USM
NIBONG TEBAL, July 2015 - World Bank Group Malaysia Senior Economist Dr. Frederico Gil Sender was at the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Engineering Campus recently to share their research findings titled ‘Malaysia Economic Monitor: Transforming Urban Transport’.
The Dean of the School Of Civil Engineering, Professor Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah said based on the presentation, there are lots of things that can be studied and investigated.
“I am sure a lot of things can be learned and we will further explore the findings to see how it can have a positive impact on the economy and development of the country,” said Ahmad Farhan.
Commenting on the overall presentation, he said that the findings obtained is a neutral view of the Word Bank Group on the development of transport in Malaysia in particular.
“We can share these findings and used it to make comparisons, and will collaborate with World Bank Group to work together towards transforming the transportation in Malaysia,” he added.
The two-hour programme was attended by over 50 participants from the campus community, including lecturers, students and staff as well as non-governmental organisations (NGOs), representatives of the Penang state government and the local community.
