VICE-CHANCELLOR VISITS THE TRAUMA AND EMERGENCY CENTRE
KUBANG KERIAN, 26 March 2013 – The Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Professor Dato’ Omar Osman checked on the progress of construction of USM Trauma and Emergency Centre which is expected to be completed in May.
The construction of the building at a cost of RM95.5 million began in October 2010. When completed, the centre is expected to improve the medical facilities with better equipment for the residents around the area.
The Vice-Chancellor also visited Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) and met its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datuk Dr. Raduan Haji Che’ Rose and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) Assoc. Prof. Abdul Aziz Ab. Latif.
At the meeting, the two parties agreed to strengthen cooperation, particularly in the areas of business development and entrepreneurship.
In the afternoon, before attending the USM Hospital Management Committee, USM Hospital Director, Dato’ Dr. Zaidun Kamari donated a sum of RM8,188 from the USM Hospital and the Health Campus for the Palestine Education Fund. Collection of the proceeds has started since January.
