HIGH SCHOOL ATTACK: USM STUDENTS INTRODUCED TO LENGGONG HERITAGE
LENGGONG, 21 March 2013 - Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) continued its effort to help the community when 24 final year School of Communication students from the university conducted a series of exploration to promote the Lenggong Heritage Site among selected secondary schools around Lenggong.
The exploration series called ‘High School Attack’ is a final year students’ project to help promote Lenggong’s heritage to the younger generation.
Lum Wai Quan, Lenggong Heritage Campaign 2013 Director, said that the series of explorations, among others, were to gain attention and raise the awareness of high school students about Lenggong as a World Heritage Site.
He said that the promotional campaign is divided into a number of activities for students and these include ‘flash mob’ and ‘thumb pledge’, as well as a photography contest, scrapbook competition and ‘Lenggong Heritage Trail’ Explorace.
“We as USM students would like to see and give the school students a chance to showcase their talents while providing clear information relating to Lenggong so that they understand the heritage better,” he added.
Two Lenggong secondary schools – SMK Sultan Azlan Shah and SMK Dato’ Ahmad – were selected for the campaign which was held on 19 and 20 March.
