PENANG, 18 May 2013 - USM School of Communication (SoC) lecturer, Dr. Mahyuddin Ahmad was elected president of the Communication Alumni Association USM at the ‘Sirih Pulang ke Gagang’ Alumni dinner that brought together about 100 SoC alumni.

The event was organised by SoC in conjunction with the IMPACT programme to strengthen the relationship between the School, the media industry, and the alumni community.

“I will strive to do whatever possible to advance the alumni association," said Mahyuddin.

According to SoC Dean, Assoc. Prof. Jamilah Ahmad, the establishment of the SoC alumni association serves as the main channel of communication for its alumni to share and contribute ideas as well as help existing students and the University for USM to forge ahead.

She added that the establishment of the alumni association was the starting point for the alumni to keep in touch with the School and the university.
