PENANG, 13 May 2013 - Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Omar Osman launched the USM-CEOs Talk Series held in Lecture Hall ‘A’, Universiti Sains Malaysia, here today.

"Now, another historic occasion has been achieved that makes USM relevant to all stakeholders and industry.

“It is through a series of talks like this that USM will further strengthen ties with the industry and share experiences with students and other suppliers,” Omar said at a ceremony organised by the Graduate School of Business (GSB) and the School of Management (SM).

This lecture series will be held on the first Monday of every month for six months and involve six Chief Executive Officers of leading companies. The aim is to make the lecture series a platform to share experiences of Chief Executive Officers, the future direction of industries, businesses and the global economic market and also a platform for discussion between USM and industry.

Chief Executive Officer, Motorola Technologies Sdn Bhd (MTSB), T.T. Yew said that the key beliefs practiced by MTSB staff are respect and integrity.

“MTSB has been around since 1974 and it explores areas of research in 1976. MTSB also emphasises leadership, changes in business model and providers ecosystem to ensure business continuity,” said Yew who also invited three suppliers to provide their views on MTSB.

Among those who will deliver a lecture in the series are the Vice-President of Altera Corporation (M) Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Dr. Mohd Sofi Osman and Chief Executive Officer of the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA), Dato’ Redza Rafiq Abdul Razak.
