The Penang State Secretary has declared Penang a public holiday on Monday, 6th May 2013 in conjunction with the 13th Malaysian General Election (GE13). In accordance with that, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) will also observe the holiday tomorrow.

The 6th May public holiday is only for USM Main Campus and Engineering Campus. The USM Health Campus in Kelantan will observe the public holiday today, 5th May, as declared by the state government.
