JOHOR BAHRU, 21 June 2013 - A total of seven alumni were elected into the Johor alumni secretariat headed by Khairull Azmi Ishak, a School of Humanities graduate.

Khairull, a personnel of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, welcomed the election results and hoped to carry out activities for alumni here.

The Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Sains Malaysia, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Omar Osman said meetings like this enable participants to know each other and also for other purposes, such as searching for alumni who can contribute back to their alma mater.

 

“This time the alumni activities are focused on the courses that the alumni took, their state of origin and country as compared to previously where activities were more general,” Omar said in a simple ceremony held at Hotel Grand Sentosa, Johor Bahru.

Besides Khairull, the alumni who attended came from various courses and the most senior alumnus graduated in 1984. They were willing to work and help each other both in terms of career or alumni development.

Also present were the Vice-Chancellor’s wife, Datin Noraizan Jamaluddin, and Alumni Liaison Office Director, Mohamad Abdullah.
