USM STUDENTS WIN GOLD MEDAL IN RAJA ZARITH SOFIA DESIGN COMPETITION
Two second year students of the Interior Design Programme, USM School of Housing, Building and Planning, won a gold each in the "Raja Zarith Sofia Award" Design Competition, which was held in Johor through four categories and they are product design, fashion, crafts, and packaging.
The final competition that was held in Johor Bahru from 15-18 June 2013 saw both USM students, Amy Fadzilla Ibrahim and Nur Fatin Amira Zakaria winning the Packaging Design Category’s Gold Medal.
The competition saw 65 finalists from 861 entries of which 735 entries were from students of polytechnics; 76 from professionals; and the remaining 60 were from school and institutions of higher learning students.
It was organised by Politeknik Ibrahim Sultan (PIS) and the Malaysian Polytechnic Entrepreneurship Centre (MPEC) to tap creative designers among public and private institutions of higher learning, and school students in the country. -- Original report and photos: Roslan Hj.
