PHARMACY LECTURER RECEIVES THE MALAYSIAN PHARMACEUTICAL SOCIETY PRESTIGIOUS AWARD
PENANG, 23 September 2013 - Deputy Dean, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Associate Professor Dr Mohamed Azmi Ahmad Hassali was selected to receive the ‘Outstanding Pharmacist of the Year’ award for this year’s Academic category of the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society which is a leading professional body for Malaysia pharmacists.
The award ceremony was held in conjunction with the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society Annual Dinner held in Kuala Lumpur and graced by the Senior Director, Malaysian Pharmaceutical Services, which represented the Malaysia Minister of Health, Dato’ Eisah Rahman, recently.
Also present at the ceremony was the President of Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society, Dato’ Nancy Ho.
Azmi is a pioneer in the field of social pharmacy in Malaysia and often referred to by various parties within and outside the country, particularly in the areas of policy development in the rational use of drugs.
Azmi was selected from among 10 candidates shortlisted for the award based on significant contributions in the field of academic research and involvement in community activities inside and outside the country that upholds the profession of pharmacist. - Translation: Yong Check Yoon
