SUBANG, 26 September 2013 - About 40 former students of Social Sciences courses at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), many of whom are the pioneering group of 1973, met here today.

According to Louis A. Vincent who initiated this meeting over lunch, it all started with a desire to see the old friends who have not met after decades.

“As we are a small group, some of whom are still keeping in touch and communicating with one other, the effort was made to gather more friends to meet,” said Vincent.

He welcomed the proposal to return to the campus, particularly the School of Social Sciences, to see the rapid changes taking place in the USM campus during his next trip to Penang.

“We hope to always have a meeting like this and plan something worthwhile for all, apart from recalling the fond memories being together in the university,” said Vincent who is still actively writing. - Translation & Photos: Yong Check Yoon
