ASSOCIATIONS URGED TO ORGANISE MORE BENEFICIAL ACTIVITIES
PENANG, 23 Nov. 2013 - Associations in Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) are urged to improve their programmes and activites to give a better impact on the development of the University.
USM Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr. Omar Osman said the associations in USM should advertise and promote the programmes organised to attract higher participation from the campus community and the public.
He said many of the beneficial programmes organised in the campus are seen to have the potential of empowering the campus community with current developments.
“Details on the programmes organised should be disseminated extensively to attract a high number of participants especially among the campus community.
“Each one of campus community is urged to be involved in the programmes organised as a means to improve the relationship with one another despite our busy daily lifestyle,” he said.
He mentioned this during his speech in the monthly assembly between the Vice-Chancellor, the Chancellory staff and Muslim Staff Association of USM here recently.
In the meantime, Omar also advised the campus community to be prudent and thrifty in spending, and be careful while travelling during school holidays.
“It is essential to plan well before any trip and it is important to do a little preparation before you travel,” he said. - Translation: Siti Faizah Abd Halim/Text: Marziana Mohamed Alias/Photo: Mohd Fairus Md Isa
