VC CONGRATULATES ALUMNI
PENANG - Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr. Omar Osman, congratulated the appointment of USM alumni, Aloyah Mamat, 57, as the Director General of the Immigration Department effective from 5 February 2014, replacing Datuk Alias Ahmad who was appointed as the Chief Secretary to the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism on the same date.
Aloyah previously held the position of Deputy Director (Management) in the Immigration Department.
Born in Malacca, Aloyah received a USM Bachelor Degree of Social Sciences, in 1982.
“I congratulate Aloyah and is proud of her achievements and hope that she will share her experiences with the current students so as to help the university in the future,” said Omar.
Aloyah joined the civil services as an administrative and diplomatic service officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 1 August 1989. - Translation: Sharifah Darweena Syed Ahmad Amir Feisal
