SINGAPORE AND MALAYSIA MINISTRY OF EDUCATION SEC-GEN VISIT USM
PENANG, 5 April 2014 - The Ministry of Education Secretary General, Datuk Dr. Madinah Mohamad, and Permanent Secretary (Education) Singapore, Chan Lai Fung, visited Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in conjunction with the 10th Annual Goodwill Games between the Ministry of Education of Malaysia and the Ministry of Education of Singapore (MESCA-MESRC).
They arrived at the Vice-Chancellor’s official residence Anjung Jannatun at 8.15 a.m. and were greeted by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr. Omar Osman and his wife, Datin Noraizan Jamaludin, together with senior officials of the university.
Datuk Dr. Madinah Mohamad then declared MESCA-MESRC open together with Chan Lai Fung around 9.00 a.m. at the USM Padang A followed by visits to venues of sporting events around the USM campus.
They later attended a briefing on the developments in USM by the Vice-Chancellor followed by discussions with the University Management Committee (JKPU) before visiting NADI for briefing on the developments of USM as an APEX University.
Datuk Dr. Madinah Mohamad is also an alumnus of the university.
The delegation later left the USM campus around 12.30 p.m.
MESCA-MESRC sports programme was held on USM campus from 4 to 6 April 2014.
