USM PTJ ARE DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS
PENANG, 25 July 2014 - Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Centres of Responsibility (PTJ) are different from the PTJ in other universities, in that they also provide services to external parties including statutory bodies and other government agencies.
“Providing services to external parties is a way of generating income," says Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr. Omar Osman, at the Iftar reception with the Centre for Education, Training and Research in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency and Green Technology (CETREE & GT), Centre for Innovation and Productivity in Public Administration (PIPPA), Knowledge Transfer Programme Secretariat (KTP) and Hajj Research Cluster.
The Vice-Chancellor also congratulated CETREE & GT for having signed the memorandum of cooperation with the Green Foundation of Malaysia (YaHijau) to carry out projects amounting to RM6 million.
“I hope this cooperation will be fundamental to CETREE & GT to forge further ahead in the future,” added the Vice-Chancellor.
At the same event, the Mufti of Perlis, Sohibus Samahah Dato Murshid Diraja Dr Juanda Jaya delivered tazkirah (a short sermon) to the guests after the Maghrib prayers.
