DONATE TO HELP NEEDY STUDENTS THROUGH USM FOUNDATION
PENANG, November 2014 - Philanthropists are welcome to contribute to the USM Foundation to help students who are in need, particularly those who cannot afford to pay their tuition fees as well as for various purposes including research.
USM Foundation Manager, Mohd Rashid Abdul Rejab said the USM Foundation was officially launched by the USM Pro-Chancellor who is also the Chairman of the USM Board of Trustees, Tan Sri Datuk Mustafa Mansur, in a simple yet meaningful ‘soft launching’ ceremony on 6 November 2014.
"Through the Foundation, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) also established the Tabung Biasiswa/Dermasiswa Kasih USM (TBDK USM) that aims to help pay for the tuition fees and living expenses of students from low income families with an average monthly income of RM1,000 and below," he said.
Currently, there are at least 130 students in USM who need financial assistance to pursue their studies in various courses of study.
Mohd Rashid added that those who wish to donate can do so through salary deductions on a monthly basis, or by cash, cheque or online payment. Please visit www.yayasan.usm.my (Click on the image on which has the title “Dermasiswa Kasih USM“).
“Information on contributions for other purposes through USM Foundation can also be found on the website,” he said.
