KUALA LUMPUR, 3 July 2026 – Creativity is no longer confined to visual expression. In today’s economy, design has become a powerful force for innovation, entrepreneurship, branding, digital transformation and social change.
Recognising the growing importance of the creative industry, the Master of Design in Creative Industry (MOD) at Universiti Sains Malaysia Kuala Lumpur (USM@KL) attracted strong interest from aspiring designers, creative professionals and entrepreneurs during the USM@KL Open Day.
The programme was among the postgraduate offerings showcased at the Open Day, giving visitors the opportunity to engage with academic representatives and explore how design thinking, creativity and innovation can be translated into impactful solutions across industries.
Developed to meet the needs of an increasingly dynamic creative economy, the programme integrates design, research, entrepreneurship and industry engagement. It equips students with the knowledge and practical skills required to respond to contemporary challenges through innovative thinking.
Students are encouraged to develop creative solutions that address changing market demands while generating value for businesses, communities and society. This makes the programme relevant not only for designers, but also for professionals seeking to use creativity as a strategic tool for transformation.
According to Dr. Goh Chu Hiang, Programme Coordinator for the Master of Design in Creative Industry, USM@KL, the USM@KL Open Day provided a valuable opportunity to connect with prospective students and local communities.
