USM PENANG, 5 April 2026 – Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) proudly congratulates Muhammad Amirul Syahmi Mohd Sanusi and Muhammad Danial Zhafirul Bazlan on their outstanding achievement of being selected to join the Malaysia national futsal squad, a testament to their talent, dedication, and perseverance in the sport.

Muhammad Amirul, 23, from Raub, Pahang, is a third-year student at the School of Educational Studies, USM, while Muhammad Danial, 22, from Kota Bharu, Kelantan, is a staff member at the USM Specialist Hospital (HPUSM).

Both are players of USM FC (formerly USMKK FC), a team that clinched the Malaysian Premier Futsal League (MPFL) Division 2 Championship in 2025, proving their capability, commitment, and fighting spirit in the national futsal arena.

USM Registrar, Mohd Azizudin Mohd Shariff, expressed pride in the achievement, noting that it involves both a student and a staff member who have successfully elevated the university’s name at the national level.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to these two USM representatives for their success in being selected to the Malaysia national futsal squad. This achievement is in line with USM’s motto, ‘Kami Memimpin’ (We Lead), which reflects the excellence of our community in diverse fields, including sports,” he said.

He added, “This selection is no coincidence but the result of their relentless effort, discipline, and dedication in bringing pride to their team, institution, and country.”

He further said that the team, previously known as USMKK FC, will compete in the MPFL 2026 under its new name, USM FC.

“May both of them continue to progress, maintain outstanding performance, and give their best commitment for our beloved Malaysia,” Azizudin remarked.

“I hope that this success will serve as an inspiration for more young talents to dream boldly, persevere tirelessly, and elevate the nation’s sporting prestige to greater heights,” he said.

With unwavering determination and pride, every stride on the futsal court reflects the honour of Malaysia.
