KUALA LUMPUR, 11 April 2026 – Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) has once again affirmed its position as Malaysia’s leader in graduate employability, receiving prestigious recognition in the Talentbank Graduate Employability Index 2026.

Talentbank Sdn. Bhd., a leading consultancy in graduate employability, evaluates the readiness of graduates to enter the workforce based on employer feedback.

Their assessment covers professional competency, workplace performance, and employers’ willingness to rehire.

This recognition is based on a comprehensive national study involving feedback and validation from more than 1,200 employers across diverse industries.

It reflects strong industry confidence in USM graduates, particularly in their readiness for employment, professional skills, workplace excellence, and consistent demand from employers.

Aligned with the Malaysian Education Development Plan (PPPM) and the National Graduate Employability agenda, USM secured a National Top 3 ranking in Graduate Employability for 2026, further strengthening its reputation as an institution responsive to industry needs.

USM also achieved first place among public universities in several disciplines, including Aerospace and Aeronautics, Analytics, Art and Design, Electrical Engineering, Health Sciences, Mechatronic Engineering, and Science. Graduates also demonstrated high employability in Business Management and Computer Science.

On the global stage, USM remains the preferred choice of multinational companies (MNCs) in fields such as Accounting, Business Management, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Mechatronic Engineering.

Adding to this achievement, multiple USM programmes received the prestigious ‘6‑Star Employer Choice’ endorsement from over 1,200 employers nationwide.

The award ceremony, held at the Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur, was attended by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Student Development Affairs and Alumni, Professor Dr. Wan Ahmad Jaafar Wan Yahaya; and Director of the Student Development Centre (PPP), Professor Dr. Azizah Omar.
