USM PENANG, 1 March 2026 – The Islamic Centre (Pusat Islam) of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), in collaboration with the Qaryah of Al‑Malik Khalid Mosque, USM, will open the Zakat Fitrah Counter for the year 1447H/2026M from 2 March until 20 March 2026.

The counter, operating on working days from 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., is located in front of the General Office of the USM Islamic Centre to facilitate campus community in fulfilling their zakat fitrah obligations during Ramadan.

For this year, the zakat fitrah rates have been set at RM10, RM15, and RM25 per person, in line with the official announcement.

A total of eight amil (authorised zakat collectors) have been appointed to manage the collection of zakat fitrah involving USM Main Campus, USM Mosque Qaryah, and the Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi Centre for Cancer (PKTAAB).

Members of the public may also contact the appointed amil for inquiries or payment arrangements.

The opening of this counter is expected to ease the process for USM community and the local community in fulfilling their zakat fitrah obligations in a more organised and systematic manner.
