PTPM USM CONTINUES CARING INITIATIVES DURING RAMADAN
USM PENANG, 18 March 2026 – The Centre for Instructional Technology and Multimedia (PTPM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), continues to extend its goodwill by carrying out the Ramadan Basket Programme in conjunction with this year’s holy month.
The programme was seen as a relief for 20 families, including 26 children, at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sungai Ara, recently.
Headmaster of SK Sungai Ara, Mohd Asri Abdul Hatam, expressed the school’s gratitude for the concern and assistance extended to families in need.
"It is hoped that the contribution of basic necessities such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, and other items, including duit raya, will help ease the burden of parents as they prepare for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri," he said.
Meanwhile, PTPM Director, Professor Dr. Irfan Naufal Umar, hoped that the children receiving these contributions would remain motivated in their studies.
"Do not let current hardships become a barrier to achieving your dreams and future success," he advised.
He also reminded that only through education and determination can one change the fate of oneself and one’s family for the better.
Programme Coordinator, Ayda Fatahiyah Abd Malek, added that initiatives such as this continue to nurture compassion, togetherness, and the culture of sharing among the community, especially in supporting those in need.
