USM PENANG, 23 February 2026 – The Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) School of Distance Education (PPPJJ) recently hosted the Dean’s Award and Certificate of Merit Ceremony to celebrate outstanding students of the Distance Learning Programme (RPJJ).

The ceremony brought together around 130 students from across Malaysia, including Sabah and Sarawak, reflecting the remarkable commitment of adult learners who successfully balance academic pursuits with career responsibilities and family obligations.

This prestigious event symbolises USM’s formal recognition of the dedication and perseverance of RPJJ students, proving that excellence can be achieved through discipline and effective time management.

It also underscores USM’s commitment to strengthening flexible education and expanding access to lifelong learning opportunities for society.

Dean of PPPJJ, Associate Professor Dr. Zulnaidi Yaacob, said the ceremony was held as a gesture of appreciation for the determination and sacrifices of RPJJ students who worked tirelessly to achieve outstanding results.

He expressed hope that their success would serve as a catalyst for greater achievements in the future, while inspiring them to contribute their knowledge toward national development.

The ceremony ended with the presentation of certificates and awards, celebrating academic excellence and inspiring recipients to strive further in their studies and careers.

Applications for admission into USM’s RPJJ Programme (Phase 1) remain open from 21 January 2026 until 10 April 2026. Interested applicants may submit their applications via pohon.usm.my.
