USM FC READY TO FACE AAK PUNCAK ALAM FC IN SEMI-FINAL FIRST LEG TOMORROW NIGHT

USM PENANG, 2 January 2026 – Universiti Sains Malaysia FC (USM FC) Head Coach, Azizul Ahmad Sabri, has confirmed that his players are in excellent condition ahead of tomorrow’s semi-final clash against AAK Puncak Alam FC in the 2025/2026 A2 Amateur League at the USM Athletics Stadium, Main Campus, Penang.
Azizul emphasised that the team is fully prepared both physically and mentally, with strong confidence to secure victory and build a comfortable advantage before the return leg in Shah Alam on 10 January.
“During training sessions, I have implemented all tactical plans and provided strong motivation to the players in preparation for the encounter with AAK Puncak Alam FC. We also acknowledge that AAK Puncak Alam FC is a formidable team from the Central Zone,” said Azizul.
He expressed full confidence in his squad, highlighting discipline as the team’s core strength.
“I hope every player will remain fully focused on the team’s strategies until the final whistle. Most importantly, they must ensure that every scoring opportunity is not wasted. Therefore, maintaining focus throughout the match is crucial,” he added.
Azizul also placed high expectations on team captain Redzuan Suhaidi, to lead the squad in continuing their winning momentum and securing a comfortable lead, ultimately qualifying for the final and opening the door to play in the A1 AFL League in 2026.

The Head Coach further noted that the opportunity to play on home ground, coupled with strong support from Universiti Sains Malaysia’s top management, will be fully utilised by the players.
Finally, Azizul expressed his hope that the entire USM community including the international students will come to the stadium to give their wholehearted support to USM FC.
Meanwhile, USM FC President, Mohd Azizudin Mohd Shariff expressed confidence in the team’s ability to maintain their unbeaten momentum and deliver an outstanding performance.
“My hope is for USM FC to bring pride to USM in the field of sports, particularly football at the national level, in line with USM’s mission ‘We Lead,’” said Azizudin.
USM FC has been one of the most consistent teams this season, finishing the Northern Zone campaign unbeaten and strengthening their reputation as a major contender for the championship.
The first semi-final leg will take place on Saturday, 3 January 2026, at 8.45 p.m. at the USM Athletics Stadium, Main Campus, Penang.
USM FC calls on all loyal supporters to fill the stadium and be the team’s 12th player in their mission to secure a crucial home victory.
