USM PHARMACY STUDENTS CLINCH CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AT 17th MyPSA NPSC 2024
KUALA LUMPUR, 18 September 2024 – Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Pharmacy students have once again proven their athletic prowess, securing the championship title at the 17th MyPSA National Pharmacy Sports Carnival (NPSC) 2024, held from 13th to 15th September at Universiti Malaya.
The USM team delivered an outstanding performance, claiming 11 gold, 5 silver, and 12 bronze medals, bringing their total medal haul to 28. Competing in a variety of events, including e-sports, team-based games, track and field, and the finale of tug of war, the team showcased both their physical skills and remarkable teamwork.
The NPSC, an annual event organized in collaboration with the Malaysian Pharmacy Students’ Association (MyPSA), gathers pharmacy students from various universities nationwide, promoting camaraderie, sportsmanship, and collaboration. The USM students’ commitment and drive to succeed have made the university proud once again, maintaining their reputation as leaders in both academia and sports.
USM’s win marks another successful year, continuing their legacy of excellence and determination in the National Pharmacy Sports Carnival. Their triumph highlights not only their athletic capabilities but also their ability to balance academics and extracurricular activities, embodying the spirit of well-rounded pharmacy professionals.
The USM Pharmacy team expressed their gratitude to MyPSA for hosting the event and to Universiti Malaya for their hospitality throughout the carnival.
This victory reaffirms USM’s status as a formidable competitor in national sporting events, and the team looks forward to defending their title in the years to come.
