USM SIGNS MoA WITH NANNING UNIVERSITY TO EXPAND STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP
PENANG, 26 June 2024 – In its effort to expand strategic partnerships with renowned institutions abroad, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Nanning University (UNN), China.
The MoA was signed recently between the USM School of Management (SOM) and UNN Faculty of Business and Economics in conjunction with the Open Cooperation & Development Forum for Application-Oriented Universities 2024 that was organised and hosted by Nanning University on 20-21 June 2024.
“We are excited to embark on this collaboration with UNN and will work on four strategic programmes together namely 1. Student Exchange programme; 2. Master Preparatory programme; 3. Staff Exchange programme; and 4. Research and Consultancy projects,” said Professor Dr. Hasliza Abdul Halim, the Deputy Dean, Research Innovation and Industry-Community Engagement at SOM.
Also present to represent USM was Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Anuar Arshad, the Project Leader for this cooperation from SOM.
Hasliza said, “Prior to signing this MoA, SOM had worked closely with the Faculty of Business and Economic, UNN by organising the virtual Undergraduate International Conference (UGIC’24) on 11 June 2024, together with two other universities – Chongqing Institute of Engineering, China and Universitas Padjadjaran, Medan, Indonesia.”
“It is expected that more and more smart programmes will come out of this MoA, which will be benefited by both universities’ staff and students,” she added.
At the Forum, Hasliza presented a paper entitled, “Bridging Education and Industry for Global Success: A Case Study of School of Management,” while a second paper was presented by Anuar entitled, “Exploring the Direction of University-Enterprise and University-University Cooperation in Country Development – A Conceptual Understanding.”
