KUALA LUMPUR, 14 May 2024 - Ruhan Ravindran, a second-year student from the School of Communication (SOC), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) recently takes the crown in an epic showdown at Astro 2024!

The Pahang-born, billed as the “Latest Sensation” in the Tamil music sphere, secured victory in Astro’s Big Stage Tamil Season 2 as the victory marks a significant milestone in his musical journey.

Participating in this competition, Ruhan harbours aspirations beyond its realm, as he expressed his desire to craft independent albums and collaborate with fellow artists.

Majoring in Creative Screen and Journalism, the 22-year-old developed a passion for singing and music from the tender age of 4, acknowledged by his family members, notably his grandfather and uncle, who were former singers in a band.

“I felt immensely joyful and grateful for the opportunity to showcase and excel my talents at the national stage. I am thankful to my family and friends who have always provided endless support and encouragement,” he said.

He also acknowledges the unwavering support from the Deputy Dean of his undergraduate course, Dr. Saifuddin Saleh.

Ruhan's musical journey exemplifies a profound connection to his craft, emphasising his dedication towards captivating audiences with his artistry and talent.
