USM PENANG, 7 March 2024 - Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr. Abdul Rahman Mohamed today received a courtesy visit from the Penang Hill Corporation, led by its General Manager, Dato’ Cheok Lay Leng.

The aim of the visit was to explore collaborative opportunities between USM and Penang Hill Corporation, with a focus on potential research initiatives in areas such as education and environmental projects.

During the meeting, Abdul Rahman provided a comprehensive overview of the university's profile and achievements, and he hoped to engage USM's experts and researchers in collaborative endeavors.

The meeting marked a significant step towards forging mutually beneficial partnerships aimed at addressing pressing societal challenges through innovative research and shared expertise.

Also present at the discussion were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovation, Professor Dr. Habibah A Wahab; Deputy Vice-Chancellor Industry and Community Network, Professor Dr. Azlan Amran; Penang Hill Corporation Senior Manager, Shahril Nizam Cheah Abdullah; USM School of Biological Sciences Honorary Professor and Principal Research Fellow, Institute of Climate Adaptation and Marine Biotechnology, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Professor Dr. Siti Azizah Mohd Nor; Managing Director of The Habitat Penang Hill, Allen Tan; and principal officers of Penang Hill Corporation.
