MASHHAD, IRAN, 15 June 2019 – Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM) have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Iran recently.

The USM Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datuk Dr. Asma Ismail signed the MoU with the President of FUM, Professor Mohammad Kafi at the FUM Welfare Conference Hall.

Others present were Professor Reza Pishghadam, Vice-President for Academic Affairs of FUM and Dr. Ehsan, Assistant to the Director of Scientific and International Cooperation and Student Affairs of FUM.

Asma said that the MoU with FUM will allow both institutions to cooperate more closely together towards achieving common goals such as in integrating the sciences and arts in areas of academic and research, as well as in the move towards internationalisation.

The Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM) is one of the most successful universities in Iran and attracting a large number of foreign students from Germany, Italy, French, Russia and others.  

FUM is a comprehensive university and it is well-known among the institutes of higher education in Iran. It is currently one of the nation’s top three universities and also the largest centre of higher education in the North-East of Iran.
