PENANG, September 2015 - Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Campus Fun Run 2015 which will be held on 10 October 2015 will mark the climax of the School of Management (SOM) Silver Jubilee Celebrations.

Speaking at a press conference here recently, USM Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr. Omar Osman said, the Fun Run, held in conjunction with the closing ceremony of the 25^th anniversary of SOM, is open to all USM staff, students and public as well with a registration fees of RM20 for students and RM30 for non-students.

“Besides getting a certificate of participation and practicing a healthy lifestyle, participants will also have the opportunity to have a closer look at the USM campus which is fondly known as the University in the Garden as they run along the 5.5 kilometer track.

“The fees collected will be channeled to the USM Foundation to help sponsor the disadvantaged and less fortunate students to continue their studies in USM in line with the 25th Anniversary theme ‘Humanising Sustainable Excellence',” he added.

Omar said further, this event is intended to spread the spirit of love for sports for the preservation of health, which also coincides with the celebration of ‘National Sports Day 2015’ on 10 October 2015.

Besides the run, there will also be many other activities to enjoy such as food carnival, Tabung Haji awareness programme, telematch, free medical screening, kite flying, batik canting etc. taking place on the same day.

Also present at the press conference was the Dean of SOM, Professor Dr. Fauziah Md. Taib and SOM lecturers.
